3 Core Strengthening Exercises for Stability
A strong core is the foundation of all movement, providing stability for your spine and improving balance. It's more than just abs; it includes your obliques and lower back. Integrate these three exercises into your routine 3-4 times a week. 1. **Plank:** The ultimate core stabilizer. Lie face down, then push up onto your forearms and toes, keeping your body in a straight line from head to heels. Engage your abs and glutes. Hold for 30-60 seconds. 2. **Bird-Dog:** This move enhances stability and coordination. Start on all fours. Extend your right arm straight forward and your left leg straight back, keeping your hips and shoulders square. Hold for a moment, then return to the start. Alternate sides for 10-12 reps per side. 3. **Glute Bridge:** This strengthens your posterior chain, which is a key part of your core. Lie on your back with knees bent and feet flat on the floor. Lift your hips toward the ceiling until your body forms a straight line from your shoulders to your knees. Squeeze your glutes at the top, then lower back down. Perform 15-20 reps.
